There are moments when I ponder the true role of finance. We often possess critical insights or knowledge that even our stakeholders might not fully grasp. So, how can we contribute to more meaningful benefits for our organization?

Reflecting on the fundamental accounting control principle of segregation of duties, I used to dismiss it as something not essential for an organization. However, as I delve deeper into how I can create substantial value for the organization, I now realize the immense risk posed when this principle is neglected. This realization underscores the pivotal role finance plays in safeguarding the organization and answering my long-standing question about our contribution.
